IAPCO's Driving Excellence Hero Award 2022 winner announced

Yoke Chun Cheong of International Conference Services (ICS) was announced as the winner of the IAPCO Driving Excellence Hero Award 2022 at the Association’s Annual Meeting and General Assembly held between 6-9 February 2023 in Jerusalem. As the Department Head for the Project Management and Operations Team, Yoke manages the staff for both departments of ICS’s Singapore office, overseeing the implementation and execution of departmental procedures and processes, and is responsible for training and onboarding new team members. Nominated by her own team, Yoke has proven to be an exceptional leader by creating a positive and supportive work environment and establishing a level of trust that enables staff to come to her for advice and support.

New President takes charge at IAPCO

Sarah-Markey-Hamm, CEO of ICMS is the new President of The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO), taking over from the CEO of the Kenes Group, Ori Lahav at the association’s Annual Meeting and General Assembly (AM&GA) that took place between 6-9 February in Jerusalem. IAPCO members present at the AM&GA in Jerusalem, as well as many joining online, voted through in-app and ballots to re-elect Sissi Lygnou, CEO of AFEA Travel Congress Services and elected Nicola Testai, CEO of OIC Group.

IAPCO and the IFES International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services (IFES) have agreed to a new 3-year Memorandum of Understanding, which will see both organisations’ communities benefit across several initiatives. At their previous meeting in Dubai, the IAPCO Council unanimously agreed upon this first-of-its-kind collaboration for both associations. The new strategic partnership will see experts from both organisations share knowledge and educational content through industry events, seminars and webinars, visibility via online recognition and business development opportunities.
