Hamburg Convention Bureau and IAPCO were pleased to announce the 3-year renewal of their destination partnership agreement at IBTM, Barcelona.

“Hamburg have been a destination partner for three years; they are very much part of the IAPCO family and we value their support. In turn, members have attended an Advisory Board and various functions providing their insights for the destination. We feel it is a very fruitful partnership and are thrilled with the renewal” said Sarah Storie-Pugh, Executive Director of IAPCO

Nele Aumann, replied “The Hamburg Convention Bureau very much values the destination partnership with the IAPCO. We both share the central aims of constantly improving quality standards through professional exchange, innovation, and training. The partnership with the IAPCO offers great exchange, international benchmarks and learnings I both ways. We are convinced that this form of cooperation between PCOS and CVBs will add value to our meetings industry. Our aim is to build a long lasting relationship with the IAPCO and we very much look forward to our ongoing collaboration.”

Hamburg were also delighted to present a completed IAPCO Plastics Pledge as part of the 50th Anniversary campaign ‘Not Just A Drop In the Ocean”. The mission is clear and ambitious – to rid the meetings industry of single use plastic.

Hamburg CVB were keen to support the campaign, and will be sharing their many green activities and initiatives with the help of the mascot Ticky The Turtle.

IAPCO is asking all organisations to complete the Plastic Pledge and make one measurable change, and encourage their suppliers and local stakeholders to join them.

Pledges so far have been received from all over the world showing the importance that the international industry is placing on sustainability and future planning. The measurable changes are varied and will be shared.

We encourage you to find out how you can get involved by visiting the IAPCO stand M88 and meeting Ticky The Turtle!
