Congrex Switzerland today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Julia Bicher as new CEO of Congrex Switzerland Ltd., effective 18 December 2017, after the former Managing Director Alain Pittet has left the company, to take on a new professional challenge.

“I am delighted to confirm Julia Bicher as Congrex Switzerland’s next CEO”, Daniel Brändlin, Chairman of the Board, stated. “Julia is a great leader who has delivered already outstanding results as Director Operations at our company. With a deep passion for the industry, Julia will continue to build on the success story of Congrex Switzerland, leading Congrex during this transformative period in the PCO industry”.

Julia Bicher, 38, has spent most of her professional life in the MICE-industry and has been with the company for over 12 years. She participated in the management buyout in 2013 and has been a partner and member of the management board since then.

“I will continue to transform the traditional PCO company based on logistical services to a true flourishing consultancy company in the area of association management, destination management and conference management, delivering expertise and exceptional customer service. Together with my colleagues from the management team, Sabine Adam, Director of Business Development & Key Accounts, and Saskia Strahberger, Director Finance & HR, we have a true vision which brings a unique, human-centred leadership approach to our company, that will further drive the potential of our people and our business”.

Julia takes over the position as CEO after a very successful 2017, in which several important multi-year contracts with new clients have been signed and various long-term collaborations could be extended until 2023. This outstanding order situation allows the new management to look extremely positive into the mid- to long-term future.
