A new video feature from IAPCO Media Partner The Iceberg spotlights IAPCO’s “Dear Associations” campaign and the role of PCOs in strengthening advocacy for the global meetings industry.
Filmed during an exclusive interview with IAPCO President Sissi Lignou in Athens in 2025, and featuring footage from the IAPCO Annual Meeting & General Assembly in Athens in 2026, the video brings together perspectives from Sissi, IAPCO Council Member Giulia Ineke Sarri, IAPCO Past Presidents Sarah Markey-Hamm and Ori Lahav, as well as a dedicated interview with Haris Doukas, Mayor of Athens.
The AM&GA Opening Session was honoured by the presence of both Mrs Olga Kefalogianni, Minister of Tourism of Greece, representing the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, and Haris Doukas, Mayor of Athens. Their participation underscored the importance Athens and Greece place on the global meetings industry, and recognised its far-reaching economic, societal and intellectual impact.
The conversation highlights the vital role of PCOs, the value of association meetings and how association leaders from healthcare, science, technology, trade and academia can help policymakers better understand the true impact of international meetings.
