Business Events Terminologies

The international congress and meetings industry has grown in recent years in both volume and complexity. The terminology used in the industry has expanded consequently, especially in areas such as information technology, social media etc., to cover an ever-increasing responsibility of all involved in the industry – from client to PCO, from supplier to industry, from convention bureau to congress centres.

The latest edition of the 16-language and 1200-word dictionary is an encyclopaedia of communication terminologies for the meetings industry.

Intended to be a practical tool, the 1200 words are translated into 16 languages: Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Danish, English, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Ukrainian, presenting an overview of terminology with definitions in English as a further guide. It covers every aspect of the services, techniques, organisation, and equipment relating to international events.

Global Socio-Political Impact Survey  Update 2026

A number of the leading organisations of the global meetings and events industry have joined forces again, to better understand the direct short- and long-term impacts of current global unrest, conflict and geo-political changes and to compare with results from a similar body of research conducted in 2025.

IAPCO, PCMA, ICCA, AIPC, IFES and AMCI have authored this survey to gather data from a combined global network of meetings and events professionals and organisations.

The survey results will be used to understand how geo-political policy changes impact our global industry and to assess their impact year-on-year.

Thank you in advance for your participation and support.
