The Global Socio-Political Impact Survey of 2025

15 May 2025

Global unrest, policy changes, conflicts and wars impact all aspects of society, including the international meetings and conference industry.

The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO), in collaboration with its National PCO Association Task Force members and global Strategic Partners, set out to measure the impact of recent global unrest and major policy change over the last two years.

The Global Socio-Political Impact Survey of 2025 is a pulse check to the impact of global unrest and its cost to our industry, and clients. The results are clear - the current global unrest is impacting organisers, venues, travel and delegates ability to meet, learn, exchange knowledge and do business.

In April 2025, the survey was distributed asking respondents to consider the impacts of the global unrest. The results paint a clear picture of an industry navigating multifaceted pressures, from operational logistics to stakeholder confidence and financial viability. The findings reinforce the need for continued adaptability, contingency planning, and enhanced collaboration across the global meetings and events community.

Global Socio-Political Impact Survey  Update 2026

A number of the leading organisations of the global meetings and events industry have joined forces again, to better understand the direct short- and long-term impacts of current global unrest, conflict and geo-political changes and to compare with results from a similar body of research conducted in 2025.

IAPCO, PCMA, ICCA, AIPC, IFES and AMCI have authored this survey to gather data from a combined global network of meetings and events professionals and organisations.

The survey results will be used to understand how geo-political policy changes impact our global industry and to assess their impact year-on-year.

Thank you in advance for your participation and support.
