A Partnership Driven by Shared Values – OIC Group and the Valencia Conference Centre

26 Feb 2025

The meeting industry thrives on collaboration, and OIC Group partnership with the Valencia Conference Centre (VCC) is a perfect example of how venues and PCOs can co-create value for clients. Sustainability is not a checkbox, it’s about rethinking the way we design events, from logistics to engagement, so that they align with values that truly matter. With VCC, we design events that prioritise:

Environmental responsibility – Moving beyond ‘green trends’ to implement real actions like zero-waste catering, carbon footprint reduction and meaningful participant engagement in sustainability efforts. Imagine attendees actively contributing to event-driven reforestation projects or offsetting their travel emissions through innovative initiatives.

Social impact – Every event should be a force for good. That’s why we work with suppliers who integrate at-risk individuals into the workforce, ensuring that our events create opportunities not just for businesses, but for people who need them most.

Efficiency and innovation – Sustainability doesn’t mean compromising on experience. Thanks to VCC’s cutting-edge digital tools, smart mobility solutions and green infrastructure, we craft events that are both efficient and engaging, proving that impact and excellence go hand in hand.

True partnerships go beyond contracts, they create a legacy. Thanks to VCC’s transformative bidding clauses aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), every stakeholder involved in our events is actively committed to sustainability and inclusivity. But we don’t stop there. By engaging local communities, businesses and innovators, we ensure that the impact of our events extends far beyond the closing session. Whether through knowledge-sharing initiatives, educational programmes or sustainability-driven business opportunities, every event we organise leaves something valuable behind.

Aligning With Client Goals Through Smart Event Design

Every client has unique priorities: some are driven by corporate social responsibility, others by cutting-edge innovation and many by the need to build global networks that create tangible value. Our collaboration with VCC allows us to adapt and tailor event formats to reflect these priorities, ensuring that sustainability and impact are woven into every detail, not just added as an afterthought.

For example, in ESPN and EVER 2024, we leveraged:

  • A fully walkable event model
  • Sustainable catering with a purpose
  • Immersive and interactive formats

A Model for the Future of Events

At OIC Group, we believe the future of the meetings industry is not just about better events, it’s about events that make a difference. Our partnership with Valencia Conference Centre is just one example of how we work alongside forward-thinking venues and stakeholders worldwide, a proof that by aligning values we can create moments that inspire change.

Because in the end, the real success of an event isn’t measured by the number of attendees or sponsors, it’s measured by the impact we leave!
