Driven by the belief that events can move people and inspire them to take action, Partners for Live Foundation shares its many years of experience in creating meaningful events and conferences. The foundation provides pro bono support where it is needed most – from strategy and advice to hands-on execution, coaching and access to its network.
A desire to give something back
The foundation is an initiative of Gerben Plasmeijer. After more than twenty-five years as an entrepreneur in the events and conference industry with Obsession and Congress by design, he developed a strong desire to give something back.
‘You make a real difference by sharing what you have and what you are good at. We know from experience what a powerful, effective event can achieve. For many social initiatives, the expertise, resources and people needed to organise such an event are not readily available. With Partners for Live Foundation, we want to make exactly that available and help them advance their mission.’ Gerben Plasmeijer, Founder of Partners for Live Foundation
How the foundation came to be
Several defining moments led to the foundation’s creation, including the anniversaries of founding partners Obsession and Congress by design. The founding partners freely contribute their time, expertise and resources to help make the foundation’s mission possible.
Colleague Marijke Warmerdam-de Wit, who passed away in 2025, was also an important source of inspiration for the foundation and a key reason for its creation. Her fingerprint is incorporated into the foundation’s visual identity, and her life motto has become its mission: ‘Be kind to each other.’
Who the foundation supports
Partners for Live Foundation works with small charities and social initiatives that have a proven social impact or show strong potential. In September, the foundation organised its first project: Villa Joep Day of Heroes, a day dedicated to connection and knowledge sharing about neuroblastoma for families, researchers and the young heroes themselves. The Day of Heroes demonstrated the value and effectiveness of the foundation’s approach.
