AFEA Congress: Driving Positive Change Through EcoVadis Sustainability Recognition

06 Mar 2025

Leading the Way in Ethical Business and Sustainability Practices

AFEA Congress continues to showcase its dedication to ethical practices, environmental responsibility and social progress through impactful initiatives and partnerships. Our recent achievements highlight a multifaceted approach to fostering sustainability, promoting gender equality and supporting corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Joining the UN Global Compact Network Greece

Strengthening our commitment to sustainable development, we are now part of the UN Global Compact Network Greece, the local chapter of the largest global initiative for corporate responsibility. By embracing the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, we align our operations with core values focused on human rights, labour practices, environmental care and anti-corruption. This membership reinforces our dedication to integrating these principles into our strategy and culture, positioning us to contribute more effectively to a fair and balanced global economy on both a national and global level.

Supporting Women’s Empowerment and Green Business Through SEGE

Further amplifying our impact, our management has joined SEGE, the Greek Association of Women Entrepreneurs. This nationwide organisation is dedicated to empowering women with tools, resources and opportunities to excel professionally and personally. SEGE’s initiatives, such as the G-FEB programme supporting women entrepreneurs in green business, resonate deeply with our vision. By supporting this network, we aim to promote leadership roles for women in sustainable industries, contributing to a more inclusive and environmentally conscious business landscape.

Recognised by EcoVadis for Sustainability Achievement

We are honored to be ranked among the top thirty-five per cent of companies evaluated by EcoVadis, a globally recognised platform for assessing CSR and sustainability performance. This achievement follows a thorough evaluation of our policies, actions and results in key areas, including environmental management, labour and human rights, business ethics and sustainable procurement. This acknowledgment reflects our efforts to incorporate responsible practices across all operations and AFEA Congress has been awarded a Bronze Medal in recognition of our sustainability achievement. In alignment with this recognition, EcoVadis, in collaboration with One Tree Planted, will plant a tree on our behalf, symbolising our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship.

Building a Responsible Tomorrow

Through these efforts, AFEA Congress continues to integrate ethical and sustainable practices into its operations, driving meaningful progress in corporate responsibility and equality. By working collaboratively with respected organisations and adopting innovative approaches, we are paving the way for a future that is fair, inclusive and environmentally sound.

Global Socio-Political Impact Survey  Update 2026

A number of the leading organisations of the global meetings and events industry have joined forces again, to better understand the direct short- and long-term impacts of current global unrest, conflict and geo-political changes and to compare with results from a similar body of research conducted in 2025.

IAPCO, PCMA, ICCA, AIPC, IFES and AMCI have authored this survey to gather data from a combined global network of meetings and events professionals and organisations.

The survey results will be used to understand how geo-political policy changes impact our global industry and to assess their impact year-on-year.

Thank you in advance for your participation and support.
