FAST FACTS :
The Union of International Associations (UIA) selected Tokyo as the destination for its 9th Round Table Asia-Pacific in 2021. Preparations were full speed ahead for a fully on-site conference, as the pandemic seemed to be on the wane. Yet, the prospects continually changed, as succeeding waves of the pandemic with their accompanying new strains affected all countries, and Japan was no exception.
In the end, the bright spot was that it became safe for attendees based in Japan to attend the physical Round Table in the heart of Tokyo, and UIA together with the host partner, Business Events Tokyo at the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau (TCVB) proceeded to craft the first-ever hybrid UIA Round Table Asia-Pacific!
Congrès Inc. utilized its accumulated experience in hybrid and online meetings to assist the organizers in flexibly shifting to the hybrid format. Congrès also was a supporter of the meeting, supplying the venue spaces at Congrès Square Nihonbashi gratis. The hybrid Round Table was well received by the 120 participants both onsite and online!
